Unstoppable Organization and Communication

Pray

Pray together for the group meeting, and any pressing needs within the group.

If any groups attendees have kids that need a wholesome distraction during the discussion here is a YouTube channel with many great Pentecostal videos for kids.

Review

Each week you’ll spend some time reviewing the previous week’s lesson. Did anything happen last week that brought the lesson to mind, and what did you learn from it?

Watch

Watch the following discussion-starter video. It’ll set the topic of discussion for the group.

Read: Acts 15:22-32

  1. One person will first read the scripture selection in the King James Version.
  2. Next, another person will read the same passages in a modern language or amplified version for more clarity such as the New Living Translation (NLT), Message Bible (MSG), New English Translation (NET), Amplified Bible (AMP), etc. We recommend using the YouVersion Bible app.

Retell

  1. One person will begin retelling the scripture passage in their own words (a new person to start each week is great!) Then…
  2. As a group, work together to fill in gaps and build the story. This will help us internalize and own it. Be sure everyone participates.

Discuss

Together, share around the group how the topic and scripture setting applies to your life personally. Here are some thoughts to consider for discussion… don’t let the discussion stop here, though… what questions can you ask that will help uncover God’s message?

<<Question about the video- Everyone answer>>

From Jerusalem to Antioch

  1. What cities are mentioned in the text?
  2. Who were the leaders that were sent to deliver the letter?
  3. Where were the leaders sent from?
  4. What were the leaders’ qualifications for being sent to Antioch?
  5. <<Everyone answer>> What qualifies us to minister to other believers?

Unstoppable Organization

  1. Why were the 4 men sent to deliver the letter?
  2. What did the letter say?
  3. How did the believers in Antioch respond to the message?
  4. <<Soft-ball- round robin question for all to answer>> Why is it important for an organization to make sure its message is communicated clearly?
  5. What can we do to make sure God’s message is communicated clearly?

Truthful Communication

  1. Who upset the believers in Antioch?
  2. Why was it important for the church to communicate its spiritual requirements for the believers in Antioch?
  3. How can knowing the truth be encouraging?
  4. Why should the church be unified in its communication?
  5. Why is organization and communication important to the church’s ministry efforts?
  6. What can be done to ensure a new believer gets established in biblical truth?

Established in God’s Truth

  1. What information have you been told or heard that appeared to be biblical truth but wasn’t?
  2. How can we equip ourselves to distinguish Biblical truth from lies?
  3. How can being established within the church protect us from the lies of the enemy?
  4. What spiritual requirements are necessary for salvation?
  5. How is God’s truth reflected in the way we live?
